Johan Asplund

Johan Asplund (born in 1937) is a Sociologue Swedish more particularly interested by the social Interractions and the Ethnométhodologie.

Its work is quoted in those of Mats Alvesson (one reflexive methodology and critical management theory).

They are little translated Swedish. Indeed, he thinks that the gasoline of a text is diluted if he is translated. This is why he refuses the edition in other languages. Writings of Johan Asplund on cities are recapitulated in English by Bo Gronlund in its “New Urban Theory” (new urban theory).

Two of its works the most read are:

  • Det sociala livets will elementära to form (1987, roughly “elementary forms of the social life”), in which it presents its theory about the human ones like firstly “socially sensitive” (“socialt responsiva”), and
  • Essä om Gemeinschaft och Gesellschaft (1991, roughly “test about Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft”), in which it explains and discusses this concept, in the beginning developed by the German sociologist Ferdinand Tönnies.
