Joey Jordison

Joey Jordison is the name of artist employed by the American Musicien of Rock Nathan Jonas Jordison . Also called Speedball , Joey is known mainly for its station of Batteur within the group of Nu metal Slipknot, but it also occupies the place of Guitariste in the group Murderdolls, more directed Glam metal. One of its characteristics is its small size: it measures only a Mètre sixty and one.

Biography

Joey was born the April 26th 1975 with the Mercy Hospital from the town of From the Monks (Iowa, the United States), it grows in the town of Wankee to about fifteen Kilomètre S from there. During its youth, it must regularly undergo the mockeries of his classmates, because of his small size and its introverted nature. It began the Guitare with old 5 years, and was interested much in the music. He became in particular fan of Black Sabbath, about which he intended to speak for the first time at 6 years, then was interested in Slayer, KIS, Venom, Cannibal Corpse or Mercyful Fate. Arrived at the college, Joey assembles a group with friends, where it replaced Guitariste. It quickly had to deal with the battery because of the mediocrity of their old Batteur, it is then 17 years old. It was for him the revelation.

At the exit of the college, Joey decided to continue the Musique. It entered several groups, in particular Modifious (with Craig Jones), Anal Blast (with Paul Gray) it wrote the album Vaginal Vempire , or The Rejects (currently known under the name Murderdolls). These groups not enabling him to gain sufficient money, he worked the night in a Station-service called Sinclair' S and in a store of disc called Music Land .

One day, his/her best friend presents Corey Taylor to him, but this last will not make him good impression. A few months later, in 1995, Joey are contacted by Paul Gray to integrate an incipient group: Slipknot. It integrated the station of Batteur within the group. The group was then made of 6 members:

The album Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat was recorded with this line-up, and was appeared during the day of Halloween 1996. The composition of the group still evolved/moved during three years, until still obtaining in 1999 that of topicality today:

During the promotional tour of the album Iowa , Joey carried out with each Concert a solo where the battery, assembled on Vérin S, turned then was inclined to be found with the verticale.Slipknot remains an extremely spectacular and complex element. -->

Joey was selected to be one of the four captains (project managers) of the album birthday of Roadrunner, the label of Slipknot. He thus collaborated with different Artiste S from the label to prepare five songs on the album.

The maggots are the fans of slipknot the majority regard Joey as the fastest beater of the history of the heavy metal, all know that they is false but they believe in it.

Anecdotes

Joey (or at least its mask…) made an appearance of a clip of Marilyn Manson " Tainted Love" where it is reproduced sitted on a settee in the side of Marilyn Manson…

Origin of the mask

The Masque of Joey is a mask of Kabuki decorated Cicatrice S painted in black, or forgery Sang. The origin of this mask comes one evening of Halloween, while returning of the cinema where he had precisely seen the film Halloween :
“ My mother was planquée in a bush. I get out of car, I arrive in front of the door and here it is which jumps out of its bush with this mask on the head. It has me foutu the jitter of my life and I believed well that my last hour had sounded. ” - Joey

Why number 1

Joey corresponds to number 1 in the group Slipknot. He claims to have chosen it because he must always make some more than the others, the battery must be heard even when the Guitare S do not play. He would have chosen number 1 because he would be always the first with being with the repetitions and entering on scene.

The logo

Joey is the creator of the S Tribal as well as Logo of Slipknot. It chose to put one K capital letter at the logo in the honor of the group KoЯn, of which he was large fan.

Parallel projects

Joey also forms part of the group Murderdolls, where it occupies the station of Guitariste. Their first and only true album are Beyond The Valley off The Murderdolls , the group being currently inactive because of the other projects of the members the component.

Also sometimes it deals with the live battery in for certain groups such as Metallica (of which it replaced the beater once, having personal problems), Satyricon, Ministry or Otep. Joey moreover took part in the production of the album Rio Grande Blood of the group Ministry. It is chosen by KoЯn to ensure the battery on their round of 2007 in order to mitigate a pause taken by David Silveria.
