Joe Satriani
Joe Satriani is a Guitariste American born the July 15th 1956 with Westbury in the state of New York. Influenced by Jimi Hendrix, it forged a technique and a very thorough knowledge of the musical theory of the instrument. He was professor of Guitare to Berkeley and counts among his former students several famous guitarists like Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Alex Skolnick (Will) or Larry Lalonde.
Biography
The work of Joe Satriani is regarded as pertaining to the kind Hard rock or instrumental rock'n'roll . It is also multi instrumentalist, able to only record all the instruments of its albums.
The exit of its first album is rather discrete, ( Not off This Earth , 1986), is the first attempt at Satriani which does not make yet speak about him, in spite of its apparent talent. Satch (its nickname), appears with the public through its second album Surfing With the Alien in 1987. The album will ensure a broad recognition to him and constitutes the Archétype guitarists virtuosos. A rich album of a varied repertory, passing from the heavy metal ( Surfing With the Alien , Crushing day ) to the ballade ( Always with me, Always With You ), or from the Boogie endiablé ( Satch boogy ) to the modern requiem of ( Hill off the skull ).
In 1988, leaves the EP called Dreaming #11 , made up of a song studio ( The Crush Of Coils ) as well as three tracks live . Then comes Flying In has Blue Dream , left in 1989; the album which charms the majority of the fans and which confirms all the talent of this genious guitarist which for the first time, is tested with the song. In 1992, leaves in the vats The Extremist , with strong connotation metal and achieving the unanimity. To note a second song dedicated with its wife, entitled " Rubina' S Blue Sky Hapiness" (the first, in " Not off This Earth, was entitled " Rubina")
In 1993 follows an double album, Time Machine . First CD being composed of rare pieces and news while the second is a collection of live . It is at this time there that it joined Deep Purple to replace the time of a round, Ritchie Blackmore. 1995 is the year of the exit of the album Joe Satriani , album of Blues tinted Rock also very appreciated fans and being characterized by new Eastern sonorities as through the title " Moroccan Sunset" and especially with from now on traditional the " Cool#9".
Following this album, it creates the concept of the G3, i.e. a world tour with the two larger guitarists of the moment. It will be accompanied by Eric Johnson and Steve Vai for the first edition by G3. This formula will be several times taken back thereafter, with guitarists with the very varied styles and virtuosos, like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Robert Fripp, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci to which unite, certain prestigious guests such as Billy Gibbons, Neal Schon, Steve Morse, Andy Timmons or French virtuoso Patrick Rondat. Following the success of the formula, three rounds of G3 were the object of recording live out of CD and DVD.
The following album, Hook Planet (1998), is regarded by much as the chief of undeniable work of Satch, always in the top of its Article Y appears a song dedicated this time to his/her son, " Z.Z. 'S song". Engines follows then off Creation in 2000 pennies a concept of electronic music. Then leaves Strange Beautiful Music in 2002 follow-up Is There Love In Space (2004) under the style that it so much affectionate: rock'n'roll full with emotion and virtuosity.
The last album of the Master, Super Colossal , available since March 2006 and falls under a continuity accommodated very well by the public, while being a modern disc which is dissociated by its simplicity.
A new album is in preparation, it will be born in April 2008.
