Joe Matt

Joe Matt is an author of cartoons born in 1963 with Philadelphia with the the United States. He lived Montreal and Toronto, and lives at present in the district of Los Feliz, with Los Angeles in California.

He is very representative of the independent cartoon, in particular in the field of the autobiographical account. He is published by Drawn and Quarterly and maintains the bonds of friendship with other authors this stable, Chester Brown and Seth, which he often draws in his stories.

Peep Show

Peep Show , the creation of Joe Matt , is an autobiographical cartoon who divides herself in two distinct periods:

daily life of Joe Matt (initially in the form of stories of a page, then of accounts of a score of pages),
his childhood (since 1995, periodic Peep Show No 7).

In the " part; life quotidienne" , Joe Matt tells shameless and without reserve no, but with much of humor, his lack of adequacy to the life in society, his behavior capricious and unbearable towards his girl-friend of the time, Trish, his dependence for the pornography, his character skinflint, egoist, liar, cheater and envieux, his morbid propensity to collect various odd objects… an good example of loser !

In the " part; enfance" , it reconsiders its education of child spoiled in a strongly catholic environment.
