Joe Hisaishi
Joe Hisaishi (), of his true name Mamoru Fujisawa (), is a type-setter and pianist Japan board. It was born the December 6th 1950 with Nagano.
Biography
Joe Hisaishi enters in 1969 to the Kunitachi College off Music, and will start to compose as of 1974 of the musics and credits of cartoons ( Gyatoruzu , Maison Ikkoku , the Académie of the Ninja , Plein Gas , etc), and thereafter many Drama, documentary and publicities.In addition to type-setter, Joe Hisaishi is instrumentalist (Piano), arranger, leader, but also - except music -, author (he wrote two books, of which a novel), realizer (in 2001, its first film: Four-bit byte, of which it also sign the scenario and the music), director of the programming of the New Philharmonic orchestra of Japan and photo hobbyist, whose stereotypes are available on its official Web site.
It is in 1984 that Hisaishi is its first great success by creating the music of Kaze No tani No Naushikaa ( Nausicaä of the valley of the wind ) of Hayao Miyazaki. Consequently, their collaboration will be regular: Laputa, the Castle in the Sky (1986), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Kiki, the Small Witch (1989), Porco Rosso (1992), Princess Mononoke (1997), the Voyage of Chihiro (2001), the Travelling Castle (2005). The films of Hayao Miyazaki will be the only ones for which Joe Hisaishi will compose, in spite of many rumors allotting a part to him or integrality of the compositions of films like the Tomb of the fireflies .
In 1991, the producers of Takeshi Kitano ask him to create the music of the film has Scene At the Sea (1991). Thereafter, Takeshi Kitano will regularly call upon Hisaishi for its films until in 2002 and the film Dolls , which will be their last collaboration to date.
In 2001, Joe Hisaishi signs his first composition except Japan: it is in France that it puts in music a film of Olivier Dahan, Tom Thumb .
In 2004, it signs a new partition for traditional silent film the Mechanic of General the of Buster Keaton, which gave place to a memorable movies-concert at the time of the fence of the Cannes festival of the same year.
In 2005, it has to compose for a film hongkongais ( has Chinese Tall Story ) and Korean ( Welcome to Dongmakgol ). More and more, Joe Hisaishi is requested from the four corners of the world, then becoming one of the ten current type-setters most famous of the cinematographic world.
Joe Hisaishi is today a figure impossible to circumvent of the Japanese and world musical world. Type-setter considered in the cinematographic medium, it has been also, for a few years, one of most active the leader of the Japanese archipelago, playing at the same time his own compositions and the other resulting ones from the traditional or contemporary catalog, in particular from the film music Europeans (France, Italy) and American (John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, etc). Its career solo is not in remainder: symphonic albums or albums Piano (Studies, Still, Stories Piano), Joe Hisaishi is a type-setter in spite of rather not very prolific, contrary to his compatriot Ryuichi Sakamoto, but of a great eclecticism and an always renewed quality.
