Joe Biden

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. , born the November 20th 1942, is American Senator Delaware (center member of the Democratic party) since 1973. Former candidate with the democratic primary educations of 1988, it directs today the democratic opposition within the Comité of the foreign affairs of the Senate. Respected senator, he is also member of the legal and criminal Committee. Of Catholic confession, it is since 1991 assistant professor in constitutional law to the school of right of the Université of Widener. He announced his candidature for the presidential election of 2008.

Personal life

Joseph Biden grew in the county of New Castle, State of Delaware. Graduate in 1965 of the university of Delaware, and the Faculty of Law of the university of Syracuse in 1968, it begins his legal career with Wilmington (Delaware), then is elected with the council of the county of New Castle of 1970 with 1972. Always living Wilmington, he is married today and father of three children, of which one of them became lieutenant in the national guard of Delaware and was useful during the Guerre in Iraq of 2003, while an other of his/her children is judge.

Joseph Biden is elected in November 1972 with the Sénat of the United States like member of the democratic party, and constantly re-elected since (it is with its sixth six years mandate). In 2002, it obtained 58 % of the voices with a budget twice more important than its republican rival , the business man Ray Clatworthy. Biden is however often shown to be more concerned by the international businesses than by the local problems of its district of Delaware. It is center, even preserving on many subjects where it is in phase with the republicans.

Among the many laws of which he is the author or the joint author, one can off quote that of 1994 on the crimes violent one entitled “Violent one Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act 1994”, more known under the name of “Biden Crime Law”, that also against domestic violence on the women of 2000 (Violence Against Women Act off 2000) but of which a part was declared unconstitutional thereafter and finally laws against the narcotraficants.

In 2001, it supported the Administration Bush at the time of the installation of laws such as the Patriot Act. Partisan of the war in Iraq, it less did not become about it one of the most virulent critics of the management of the post-war period.

Biden was presented to the democratic primary educations of 1988 but was obliged to give up the presidential race following plagiarism, at the time of a speech in the State of Iowa, of the English Labor leader, Neil Kinnock. This scandal also revealed an old business of plagiarism whereas it was student in right, twenty years earlier. Other less important businesses also leaded its countryside and it has thus to declare fixed price. Its hospitalization in February 1988 put definitively fine at its countryside.

In 2003, Biden refused to be candidate with the democratic primary educations in spite of the requests of its putative Candidat camp to the vice-presidency at the side of John Kerry in 2004, it publicly announced its choice for a ticket of Kerry with the republican John McCain.

While speaking about Barack Obama, Biden described it like " propre" ( clean ). That made it show racism, until it clarified that it wanted to describe it like " propre" not with the clean direction, but in the direction of " net" and with pace. Obama itself had included/understood it.
