Joe Barry Carroll
Joe Barry Carroll , born the July 24th 1958 with Prick Bluff, Arkansas, is a former American professional player of Basket-ball which spent ten seasons in National Basketball Association. Pivot of 2m10 of the University of Purdue, it holds the record of the history of the school of rebounds registered in career and over one season (respectively 1148 and 352).
Biography
Carroll was drafté by the Golden State Warriors with the first choice of the draft 1980. Carroll had a bad reputation near the press, due to the fact that it granted only few interviews and that Warriors tranférèrent Robert Parish and the choice of draft used to select Kevin McHale with the Boston Celtics for the first choice used to select Carroll, which finished with the Basketball Hall off Famed and in the list of the Meilleurs players of the fiftieth anniversary of the NBA.However, during its first seasons, Carroll was a very productive player. It carried out averages of 18,9 points and 9,3 rebounds as a rookie and carried out its best performances in career later two seasons with 24,1 points and 8,7 rebounds. Carroll left Warriors in 1984 to play in Italy, but it turned over in the team in 1985 for an average of 21,2 points for two consecutive seasons.
Carroll represented Warriors in 1987 at the time of NBA All-Star Range, but after the season 1986-87, its production started to decline and, in December 1987, it was transferred with Sleepy Floyd to the Houston Rockets against Ralph Sampson and Steve Harris. Carroll signed an average of 12,7 points at the time of this season, then, after passages to the New Jersey Nets, the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns, it took its retirement in 1991. It finished its career with a total of 12455 points and 5404 rebounds, reaching with four recoveries the bar of the 20 points.
Carroll is today an investor and a business man with success living with Atlanta, Georgia in its family ranch.
