Job of Roincé

Of its true name Joseph Boreau de Roincé, Job of Roincé (April 18th 1896 - December 30th 1981), was a journalist and a writer and also one of the outstanding figures of the Breton regionalism.

Biography

Born with Segré in Maine-et-Loire in 1896, he attends the college of Saint-Pol.-of-Leon (Finistere). Teenager, it takes part in the birth of the Bleun Brug , the movement of the abbot Jean-Marie Perrot. After the First World War, it takes part in creation in 1919 of the Groupement of Breton youth with other members of the French Action of Charles Maurras. This movement is at the origin of the separatist movement Breiz Atao, which it leaves quickly noting that the convictions of new the adérents are incompatible with his. Royalist, he is member of the Breton National Parti. On the professional level, it begins its career from journalist to the newspaper “ the Short story writer of Rennes ”. Between 1925 and 1945, it assumes the direction of the Courrier of Mayenne . From 1950, it is with Rennes editor association of the weekly magazine the Nouvelles of Brittany . In parallel, it has an important literary activity, centered on the regionalism and the History of the west of France.
