Joaquín Nin
Joaquín Nin (Havana, September 29th 1879 - id. , October 24th 1949) was a pianist and cuban Compositeur of the modern time.
He was the pupil with the piano of Moritz Moszkowski and studied the composition at the sides of Vincent d' Indy with the Schola Cantorum of Paris, where he taught 1905 with 1908. He is known mainly for his arrangements of the Spanish folk music. He was the friend of Maurice Ravel and one of the witnesses of the genesis of the Boléro in 1928. He was member of the Spanish Academy and accepted in France the Légion of Honor.
He was the father of the writer Anaïs Nin and the type-setter Joaquín Nin-Culmell.
