Joan Pau Pujol

Juan Pujol ( Joan Pau Pujol ) (baptized on June 18th 1570 - May 17th 1626) was a Compositeur and Spanish Organiste of the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque. Although it is more known for its sacred music, it also wrote profane popular music.
Biography
Pujol was born with Barcelona. In 1593, it becomes auxiliary of the choirmaster to the Cathédrale of Barcelona, but it ensured the station only during a few months, because it was selected as choirmaster of the cathedral of Tarragone. In 1595, he becomes choirmaster of the cathedral of El Pilar with Saragossa, a station which he will hold 17 years. During its stay in Saragossa, in 1600, it becomes priest. In 1612, it goes back to Barcelona, as choirmaster of the cathedral, posts that it will keep until his death. Obviously, it had the obligation to produce a fixed quantity of new liturgical music each year. Most of its music reached us, which is unusual for the type-setters of this time.During its presence in Barcelona, he also worked as consultant for the construction of orguess and brought his assistance in various construction projects of orguess to Catalonia. He died in Barcelona.
