João Fernandes (1453 - 1505), known as João Fernandes Lavrador (“the landowner”), was a Explorateur Portuguese.

Towards 1498, it explores and cartography the coasts of the Greenland and the north-eastern end of the North America. The territory of the Labrador is probably named according to him.
