Jixi (鸡西; Pinyin: Jīxī) is a city of the province Heilongjiang, in the North-East of the China. Its population is of: 757600 inhabitants. One speaks the dialect there about Jixi of the today.

Mining accidents with Jixi

  • In June 2002, 115 people found death following a problem in the ventilation system of a mining.
  • In February 2004, 24 people died in an explosion in the mine Baixing .
  • on November 25th, 2006, 21 workmen died and 6 others carried disappeared in an explosion from the mine Yuanhua .
  • on December 1st, 2006, 8 minors found death in an explosion of a mine of the company Chengjin .
