Jimmy Vasser
Jimmy Vasser (born the November 20th 1965 with Canoga Park in California -) is a racing driver American. He gained the championship CART in 1996.
Biography
It is in 1992 that Vasser carries out its beginnings in the championship CART. Controlling within modest stables, it is not able truly to highlight itself. Its career takes off when it joined in 1995 the Chip Ganassi Racing. In 1996, it gains its first races and after an almost perfect beginning of the season (4 victories in 5 races), it allocates the championship rather easily.
However the title of Vasser does not arrive to completely convincing the observers. Because if the Californian one showed of a remarkable regularity and a great science of the race throughout its victorious season, it especially profited from the best car of the plate and did not raise the doubts about its true performance level, especially if one judges some by his difficulties at the end of the season of containing his inexperienced team-member Alessandro Zanardi. The limits of Vasser are confirmed at the time of the three following seasons, where it is again very regular, but dominated by its team-members who take down in their turn the title (Zanardi in 1997 and 1998, then Juan Pablo Montoya in 1999).
End 2000, Vasser leaves the Chip Ganassi Racing to join successively the Pat Patrick Racing, the TEAM Rahal, then the TEAM Johansson, where it is faithful to itself: regular and intelligent, in the absence of being truly brilliant.
In 2004, Jimmy Vasser joined the stable PKV racing, not only as a pilot, but also as associated (it is the āVā of PKV). In 2006, it took part in the sleeve of opening of the championship with Long Beach, but should not take part in the remainder of the season, signs of its progressive departure to the retirement.
