Jim jungle
Jungle Jim is an American cartoon created on January 7th 1934 by Don Moore and Alex Raymond.
Contrary to the characters of Tarzan , Ka-Zar , Kaanga or other series whose topic is based on the jungle, the hero Jim Bradley rather saw his adventures in the south-east of Asia than in Africa. It is moreover one hunter and not a “wild man”.
At his sides one finds powerful Kolu (comparable with the Lothar of Mandrake the Magician ) and Lille DeVrille which will appear two years after the commencement of the series.
The first adventures generally speak about pirates, slave and antagonists specific to the jungle. The Second world war approaching, the topics are done more quarrelsome and patriotic since Jim will fight Japanese.
It is also the period when Alex Raymond joined the American navy. He is replaced in particular by John Mayo ( Future Eye ), Paul Norris ( Aquaman ), and Gift Moore.
The series ends in 1954.
