Jim Woodring
Jim Woodring is an author of Comic S American born the October 11th 1952 with Los Angeles in California and currently living with Seattle.
Car-formed artist, Woodring worked as street sweeper before arriving at a work in the illustration at the studio of animation Ruby-Spears in the the Seventies. In 1980, it started to publish its own anthology of comics, Jim , of oneiric art and the abstract writings which it described like a " autojournal". Jim was published regularly by Fantagraphics Books starting from 1986, acclaimed by criticism, and Woodring full-time became finally author of comics. Frank , a dumb series and surrealist which made sporadic beginnings in Jim , became its most famous work.
Jim Woodring also carried out during a short duration a series of comics for children, Tantalizing Stories , with Mark Martin. He also worked in freelance for stories based on the Univers of Alien for Dark Horse Comics, and adapted the film Freaks with F. Solano Lopez.
