James E. " Jim" Risch (born in 1944 with Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is a American Politician , member of the Republican party, lieutenant-governor of the Idaho of January 2003 at May 2006, Gouverneur of Idaho of the May 26th 2006 at January 2007, to finish the mandate of Dirk Kempthorne and again lieutenant-governor of the Idaho since the 1e January 2007.

Peg ladder and lawyer, Risch is married and father of 3 children and four times grandfather.

Graduate in Right of the University of Idaho in 1968, it works of 1970 with 1974 for the prosecutor of the county of Ada and ensign right to the University of Boise.

In 1975, it is elected with the Senate of the state where it spends the 22 years which follow including three years as a chief of the majority and six years as a president.

In November 2002, it is elected lieutenant-governor.

The March 16th 2006, the governor Dirk Kempthorne was named at the post of secretary inside in the government of George W. Bush. As of its confirmation by the Senate, Risch succeeded to him the post of governor and finished his mandate (end in January 2007).

Risch announced that it did not wish to request a mandate of governor to the elections of November 2006 but to pile up again at the post of lieutenant-governor.

In November 2006, he is again elected lieutenant-governor of Idaho against the democrat Larry LaRocco. Its mandate begins in January 2007.
