Jim Pollard
James Clifford " Jim" Pollard (born the July 9th 1922 with Oakland, California; deceased the January 22nd 1993 with Stockton, California) was a former player and professional American trainer of Basket-ball.
Pollard played in NCAA with Stanford and was a key player of the team champion NCAA in 1942 (because of a wound, he did not play the last match). In NBA, Pollard was regarded as one of the best wingers of the Années 1950 and was famous for its ability, which conferred the nickname of " to him; The Kangaroo Kid". According to " The Official NBA Basketball Encyclopedia", Pollard dunkait of the line of the throw-francs during the heating before the matches.
In 1952, the players who had evolved/moved in NBA since his origin (known originally under the name of BAA) selected Pollard like the best player of the period. Pollard made team with George Mikan and Vern Mikkelsen in the team of the Mineapolis Lakers, forming one of the best back lines of the history of the basketball. Lakers gained five championships NBA between 1949 and 1954.
Pollard finished its career after seven seasons in NBA in 1955. He became trainer of the team of the Université the Room for three seasons of 1955 to 1958, for an assessment of 48 victories - 28 defeats.
Pollard was regarded as an exceptional general-purpose athlete. During its career NBA, Pollard also played as an amateur with baseball for " Jordan" , a club of Minnesota.
