Jim Peterson

honourable the James Scott (Jim) Peterson , C.P., B.A., LL.B, LL.M., D.C.L (born the July 30th 1941) is a Canadian politician ; he is currently Député with the House of Commons of Canada, representing the Ontarian district of Willowdale since 1988 under the banner of the Liberal party of Canada.
Peterson acquires notoriety with the national scales in 1974 when it helps the Russian dancer Mikhaïl Barychnikov to flee the Soviet Union during its Canadian round.
Initially elected with the communes in 1980, it east demolishes at the time of the election of 1984. He is again re-elected in his district in 1988, and was re-elected with each subsequent election. In 1997 it is named Secretary of State by Jean Chrétien, but it is returned to the back-bench in 2002. It returns to be used in the cabinet as Paul Martin, which it had supported a long time.
He is the brother of old the Ontarian Prime Minister David Peterson. Another brother, Tim Peterson, seat currently with the legislative Parliament of Ontario.
