Jim Murple Memorial

Jim Murple Memorial is a French group of Rythm and blues (but also of Soul, of Rocksteady, Ska and Blues and Jazz) composed of seven musicians: Double bass, coppers, Guitar, battery and of a singer. Their inspiration comes from the American musics north and caraïbéennes of the Années 1940 and 1950. The group was founded with Paris in 1996.

Biography

The group is formed side of Montreuil in 1996. After having assembled their own studio of recording, they leave a first album in 1998. Taking again at their beginnings of the standards ska, rocksteady and rhythm & blues, they interpret little by little their own compositions. The words of the songs are primarily in English, with some French titles. The group is alas endeuillé in 2003 by the disappearance of the double bass player Fabrice Lombardo, right before the exit of Let' S Spend Some Coils .

Far from the styles with the mode, their titles are diffused little by the media. And Bailler And To sleep (according to Charles Aznavour) or Which That one Is is able all the same to cut through a path on the waves of some radios. Because of this absence of mediatization, the Jim Murple must especially count on the word of mount to make known itself. Their scenic services full with energy and cheerfulness enable them to arrive to a relative popularity, and fidéliser a public increasingly more everywhere to France. With the wire of their rounds, one could see them with the Festival of the Old Plow in 2004, with the Dour Festival in 2005 or with the Printemps of Bourges. They also passed twice at the head from poster to the Elysium Montmartre to Paris in 2005 and 2006.
