Jim Messina

Jim Messina , born the December 5th 1947, was a Bassiste and Chanteur American, especially known like member of the rock groups Buffalo Springfield, Poco and Country - rock'n'roll " Loggins and Messina".

Biography

Messina was first of all sound engineer, producer and sometimes bass player (it replaced Bruce Palmer on the last album) with the group Buffalo Springfield.

With Richie Furay it then formed the group Poco. Messina was then guitarist, singer and type-setter of the group. After two albums, it left Poco.

He was then independent producer, which gave the opportunity to him to work with Kenny Loggins for its first album. Finally, they decided to leave the album under the title " Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In".

The duet recorded several albums which were a good success. In the second, heading " Loggins and Messina" , the duet is accompanied by Rusty Young of Poco and composed “Your mama gift' T dance” and “Angry eyes”.

Loggins and Messina stop their collaboration in 1976 and continue careers solo, Loggins having more success than Messina.

Messina then continued its career as type-setter and coach. In 2005, Loggins and Messina reformed their duet and carried out a round which had much success to the the United States. They carried out new CD (and DVD) " Loggins and Messina Sittin' In Again."
