Jim King

James King is a Saxophoniste, Harmoniciste and British Chanteur of Rock born the May 5th 1942 with Kettering, Northamptonshire (England), more known under the name of Jim King.

Biography

Jim King is one of the original members of the English group Family. He plays of the saxophone and the harmonica, and sings sometimes on the first two albums of the group Music in has Doll' S House then Family Entertainment . King is also the principal singer of Observations From has Hill on the third album of the group has song for me .

Beginnings

King takes part in the group of blues-rock'n'roll The Farinas , formed with Leicester (England) in 1962, which included/understood also the guitarist John " Charlie" Whitney. It was at the time the singer of the group until Roger Chapman unites with them in 1966, at the time or the group starts to occur under the name of The Roaring Sixties .

Family

The Roaring Sisties become Family, and influences it of King on the first two albums of the group is undeniable with its improvisations with the saxophone and the harmonica. It filled within Family what did at the same time Chris Wood with Traffic.

A group of American drink-rock'n'roll, The J. Geils Band, at that time adopts the same idea of a musician saxophone/permanent harmonica by employing Richard " Magic Dick" Salwitz.
