Jim Hall (musician)
James Stanley Hall , born with Buffalo in the state of New York on December 4th 1930, is a Guitariste of American Jazz .
Career
After studies at the Institute of music of Cleveland, Jim Hall leaves for Los Angeles. He studies there the traditional guitar with Vincente Gómez, and starts to make known himself there at the end of the Années 1950. He plays with the quintet of Chico Hamilton in 1955 and 1956, with the trio of Jimmy Giuffre in 1956-1959.In 1960 Jim Hall settles with New York. He accompanies Ella Fitzgerald in 1960-1961, and plays with musicians as various as Sony Rollins and Art Farmer, or Ben Webster, Hampton Hawes, Bob Brookmeyer, John Lewis, Zoot Sims, Lee Konitz.
Its concerts and its recordings with the trio of Bill Evans (Evans, Paul Desmond, Ron Casing) are legendary.
