Jim Doyle (born in 1945) is an American politician, member of the Democratic party and 44ème governor of the American state of the Wisconsin since January 2003.
Jim Doyle was born the November 23rd 1945 with Madison, Wisconsin. His/her parents were James E. Doyle Sr. and Ruth Bachhuber Doyle, founding members of the Democratic party of Wisconsin. James E. Doyle, Sr. for the post of governor in 1954 will contribute and was named federal judge in 1965 whereas Ruth Doyle was, in 1948, the first elected woman of the county of Dane at the assembly of state of Wisconsin.
Graduate of the university of Madison, Doyle left in Africa to enlist in the Peace Corps with the call of the president John F. Kennedy.
In 1972, Doyle obtained its diploma in right of the university of Harvard then joined the Indian reserve Navajo of Chinle in Arizona where he worked as an attorney.
In 1975, Doyle returned to Madison and was made elect District Attorney of the county of Dane.
After 3 mandates between 1977 and 1982, it spent the eight following years within a law firm.
In 1990, Doyle was elected Attorney General of Wisconsin and was re-elected in 1994 and 1998.
It marked its mandates by great victories against the companies of tobacco.
In January 2001, the very popular one and indéboulonnable republican governor Tommy Thompson resigned to join the government of George W. Bush as a Secretary of State to health.
The lieutenant-governor Scott McCallum replaced Thompson to finish his 2 last years of mandate.
