Jijona

Jijona ( Xixona as a Catalan) is a commune Spanish E of the Province of Alicante, with the Valencian Pays, which is very known in Spain and most of the Latin America to be the place of production of the Turrón, traditional confectionery with Christmas.

Jijona is 25 km in the north of the town of Alicante, in the interior of the country.

The economy of the commune traditionally poured on a duality between the production of turrón for Christmas and the production of ice creams for the summer, with cultures complementary to Amandier S, whose fruit is necessary for the manufacture of the turrón.

One celebrates the Moros I there cristians in February and one finds there the Museo del Turrón .
