Jihad Al-Muqadas

The Jihad Al-Muqadas (rear RTL الجهادالمقدس) which one can translate by Armée with War-holy the ) was a force of irregular Palestinians and Arabs during the Guerre of Palestine of 1948.

Founded by Hadj Amin Al-Husseini, it was directed by Abdel Kader Al-Husseini until in April 1948 where it was killed by the Israéliens at the time of the Opération Nahshon. It was then directed by Emil Ghuri.

Its first operation dated May 7th, 1936 when the group tackled a British military base. After the intensification of the attacks, the British decide to carry out an offensive terrestrial and air against their camps located in mountain and the October 4th 1936 capture Abdel Kader Al-Husseini. It is transferred to the hospital of which it escapes towards the Syria.

In April 1938, the group is rebuilt and started a new series of attacks against the British Jewish colonies and troops. The members of Jihad Al-Muqadas succeed in destroying 3 British planes but they are again beaten after a British offensive and the death of a great number of the combatants and certain important frameworks like Ali Al-Husseini and Abdel-Rahman.

In January 1948, Abdel Kader Al-Husseini returns to Palestine to the head of a hundred men who will be used as frameworks with the Jihad Al-Muqadas which will count a few thousands of volunteers with which it organizes the head office of Jerusalem.
