Jiddu Krishnamurti

Jiddu Krishnamurti , born with Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh) the May 12th 1895 and died in Ojai (California) the February 17th 1986, is a Philosophe and spiritual teacher Indian.

Its philosophy was founded on comprehension that a fundamental change in the Société could not, according to him, to emerge that from a radical upheaval in the individual, since the company is the product of the reciprocal actions of its members. Such a change was to pass by a kind of Mutation of what it called sometimes the " old man cerveau" conditioned of the man in order to reach a true freedom that neither the Religion S, nor the Athéisme are able to produce, since the ones like the others always act " in réaction" with something of other.

Its history

Krishnamurti was born in a family from Brahmane S from the Andhra Pradesh. In 1909, it met C.W. Leadbeater on a beach deprived with the seat of the theosophic Company with Adyar, a district of Chennai. He studied thereafter near Annie Besant and of C.W. Leadbeater, which directed the theosophic Company at that time, and which believed to see in him a “vehicle” for the “Teacher of the world” until they waited.

Become young man, he repudiated this idea that he would be new a Messie and dissolves the worldwide organization established to support it, called “the Order of Star”.

He then devoted the remainder of his life to travel throughout the world, addressing himself to groups as well as with individuals interested by his ideas which quickly made him an unusual attraction in its time by the sometimes virulent distance as he took with the religions and the Gourou S, even if he finished, inevitably, by being perceived itself like a guru.

To the 90 years age, he addressed himself to the the United Nations on the subject of the Paix and the conscience and received the Medal of Peace of UNO for 1984.

Its last public maintenance took place with Madras, in India, in January 1986, one month before its death at his place, in Ojai, in California.

Schools

It created the KFI, Krishnamurti Foundation Trust in 1968, then the educational Center Krishnamurti de Brockwood Park in 1969 and that of Oak Grove in Ojaï in California in 1975. Several schools were open in India, in Rishi Valley, where a tree Banyan of more than 300 years is, and Rajghat Besant, to which it returned visit every year. Another school was created in Wolf Lake with the Canada. Their vocation was to cause the appearance of a new generation of human beings, free of self-centredness. Krishnamurti wished that these places allow at the same time the teacher and taught to explore not only the world of the knowledge but also their own thought and their own behavior.

Quotation

" the Truth is a country without way. No organization, no Faith, no one Dogma, Ritual Priest or , no training philosophical or technical of psychology can lead the man to it. It is necessary for him to find it in the mirror of the Relation, by the comprehension of the contents of its clean Esprit, by the observation and not by the intellectual analysis or the introspective dissection. The man built religious, political or personal images, getting to him a feeling of Sécurité. Those appear in Symboles, Idées and Croyances. The burden that they constitute dominates the thought of the man, his relations and its daily life. They are there the causes of our difficulties, because, in each relation, they separate the man from the man. Its perception of the life is worked by the concepts preestablished in its spirit. The contents of its conscience are this conscience. These contents are common to all humanity. Individuality is the name, the form and the surface Culture that the man acquires in contact with sound Environnement. The single nature of the individual does not lie in this surface aspect, but in a total freedom with regard to the contents of the conscience. Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not the choice. It is the Vanité of the man who pushes it to believe himself free by the choice it has. Freedom is pure observation, without orientation, fear nor threat of punishment, reward. Freedom does not have a reason; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of the man but lies in the first step of its existence. It is in the observation that one starts to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is in a vigilant attention and without choice during our daily existence "
