Jibal
Jibâl or Al-Jibâl is the name of a transitory Arab province located in the North-West of the Iran, during the Califat Abbasside of Baghdad in particular during the supervision Bouyide on the caliphate where it formed a small independent state (932 - 977). It constituted a frontier zone between the Iraq and the Perse on the Western slope of the Zagros corresponding about to the Iranian provinces of the Azerbaïdjan of the west, of the Kermânchâh, the Kurdistan and the Lorestan. The control of this area makes it possible to lock the passage of Baghdad towards Ray (Teheran). It would coincide with the old country of the Mèdes.
In second half of the 11th century, with the arrival of the Seldjoukides to the capacity, the area is parcelled out in several administrative units, it changes name and becomes the Iraq `Ajamî ( Iraq of Persians ).
