Jiří Dopita

Jiří Dopita (born the December 2nd 1968 with Šumperk in Czechoslovakia, today town of Czech Republic) is a professional player of Hockey.

Career in club

Its beginnings

It begins its career while playing about it within HC Dukla Jihlava in the championship from Czechoslovakia in 1989. At the conclusion of this season, it joined TJ DS Olomouc lately integrated in the league.

In 1992, it takes part in the fishing out of entry in the National league of hockey and is selected only in sixth round (133e choice) by the Bruins of Boston. Final, he will never play for the team preferring to remain with the club of his country.

He plays two seasons there supplements then leaves the club before the end of the season 1992-93 to join the Germany, his 1. Bundesliga and equips it with EHC Eisbären Berlin e.V. With 7 assistances and 4 goals, Dopita helps Olomouc largely to draw aside in turn the teams of HC České Budějovice (in three matches Nets), of HC Kladno, first at the conclusion of the regular season and victorious of the first two matches of the semi-final and that of HC Pardubice finally. The team then gains the first title of the Czech news Extraliga and he is elected Meilleur player series (MVP).

Successes with Vsetín

The following season, it turns over to play a springtide in Germany but the series are once again missed and it decides to turn over in its country the following season for the team of the HC Vsetín with which it gains new championships into 1996,1997,1998,1999 and 2001.

Meanwhile, it takes part once again in the fishing out in 1998 and is selected in fifth round by the Islanders of New York.

In 2000, the team misses the title but Dopita is all the same indicated better striker of the Extraliga with 30 achievements. At the time of the season 2000-01, it receives a great number of trophies:

  • better striker of the series (8)
  • better frontier runner of the series (13)
  • better player of the séries,

He also receives the Crosse of Gold of the best Czech player of the year (all confused competitions).

The failure in the LNH

Following this enormous season, the captain of the HC Vsetín joined the North America, the Flyers of Philadelphia and his former fellow-member, Roman Čechmánek. He plays for Flyers only the season 2001-02 but made all the same speak about him marking some in January 4 goals during the same part against the Thrashers of Atlanta. Unfortunately, following a wound with the knee, he plays only one about fifty matches in the season and joined for the following season the Oilers d' Edmonton. Once again, that does not occur as well as not envisaged, he plays only 21 matches in the season with only 6 points and he decides to return in his country for the following season.

The return to the country

He plays once again with the HC Olomouc which evolves/moves then in 2.liga after the sale last of the licenses for higher divisions. He helps his team to go up in 1.liga but leaves the club all the same the following season to play in Extraliga . He signs then for HC Pardubice and at the end of its second season with Pardubice, he gains a new championship of Czech Republic, its seventh title. In 2005, it signs with the club of HC Znojemští Orli with which it always evolves/moves.

May 5th, 2006, he becomes the majority shareholder of HC Olomouc.
