Jiří Dienstbier
Jiří Dienstbier (born on April 20th, 1937 with Kladno) is a Czech politician and old a dissenting. He was Foreign Minister of the Czechoslovakia of 1989 to 1992. He is now candidate with the Czech presidential election of 2008 against Vaclav Klaus.
Jiří Dienstbier studied the journalism of 1955 to 1960 with the pulpit of philosophy of the Université Charles of Prague. With the University of Burgundy, it obtains a doctorate. In the years 1990, he teaches in the high schools.
In 1958, always student, it enters the Czechoslovakian Communist party. In the years 1958 - 1969, he is writer and presenter in the radio of State Československý rozhlas .
At the time of the Spring of Prague in 1968, he is opposed to the Soviet occupation. He is then returned Czechoslovakian Communist party, the following year.
In 1977, Jiří Dienstbier becomes one of the 250 signatories of the Charte 77. From 1979 to 1985, he becomes the spokesperson of this movement. He takes part in the edition of Samizdats. For all these reasons, he is imprisoned of 1979 to 1982. He can then follow only not-intellectual occupations.
During the creation of the civic Forum, in November 1989, it becomes one of the doors word. As of December, it is named minister.
From 1993 to 1996, it directs a liberal party.
He works now for the agency Reuters and is candidate with the presidential election.
