Jewish French Television , also known under its Initials TFJ , is a denominational Television channel French Jew .

History of the chain

Created by Ghislain Allon, TFJ is the first Jewish television channel in Europe. It started to emit the May 14th 1998 in MPEG-2 and light on the Hot-Bird satellite of Eutelsat through more than 70 countries.

She knew then difficult periods with in particular a marked Compulsory liquidation the May 13rd 2005 by the bankruptcy court of Nanterre with Suspension of payment with the October 23rd 2003. The company Charisma Films, principal shareholder and creditor of the chain, it, was also put in liquidation. This action had been initiated by Elisabeth Belicha, a shareholder of TFJ. The same day, Ghislain Allon presented to the SCUMS the candidature of TFJ for TNT. This one was not finally retained.

The September 21st 2005, TFJ returns out of Stock Exchange. The purpose of this financial transaction is to lead a lifting of funds for its rebirth envisaged the February 26th 2006 with a new team to her head.

Thus, of new organizers (Roland Perez, Sophie Favier, Bernard Sabbah…) came to supplement the former team (Jonathan Sellem, Sandra Calme).

The logo of the chain which raised the star of David, symbol of the Judaïsme of 1998 to 2005, is replaced in 2006 by a more modern and Community preparing.

Marc Fiorentino, president of the chain, launch the new formula the March 9th 2006. The grid of the programs is subjected to the suggestions of the televiewers to improve it for the re-entry of September 2006. Finally, the chain ceased emitting on November 24th, 2006 without informing the televiewers of them. The company of diffusion by satellite stopped its services for a delay of payment and TFJ is not present any more on the network Freebox TV, like on that of Neuf TV. The site of the chain (tfj.fr) from now on empty of is very contained.
