Jeumont

Jeumont is a common French, located in the department of the Northern (59) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The etymology of Jeumont would be Jovis Mons , the " Mount of Jupiter" in Latin.

Its inhabitants is called the jeumontois.

Geography

Last French commune located on the course of the Sambre, which penetrates thereafter in Belgium (first common Belgian on Sambre: Erquelinnes).

Jeumont constitutes today the same agglomeration with its Belgian neighbor Erquelinne. If the urban fabric is in perfect continuity, the effect Frontière is strongly marked. Many less taxed trade (beers…) or of products prohibited in France (RedBull…) are massively sold Belgian side, which benefits from the tax basket.
