Jess Hahn

Jess Hahn is an actor American naturalized French, born the October 29th 1921 with High Ground in the Indiana (the United States) and died the June 29th 1998 with Saint-Malo (France). It carried out the essence of its career in France.

Biography

It is illustrated during the Second world war as a combatant in the rows of the Marines. It takes part in the unloading of Normandy. In 1949, it returns to settle definitively in France.

After having tried a career of musician, he becomes actor. He specializes in the supporting roles, in general of American characters, often like gangster, henchman, soldier… One thus sees it at the sides of Jean-Paul Belmondo in Cartouche or the Secret agents of Georges Lautner. In a different register, he plays the main role of film of Eric Rohmer the Sign of the lion , that of a musician which falls into misery.

Its career is blown little by little in the years 1970. It turns in several series B under the direction of Jean-Marie Pallardy. In the years 1980, it turns little, being withdrawn in Brittany where it has a farm. He dies in Saint-Malo in 1998.
