Following a petition addressed on February 5th, 1621 to Sir Dudley Carleton, ambassador of its Majesty the king of England with $the Hague (connu under the name of Round Robin, this document is preserved today at British Public Office Record), soliciting, in the name of about fifty Walloon and French families, the right to be established in Virginia on a territory of eight English miles to the round, the Virginia Company answers, on August 11th, 1621, by an agreement in principle, together with certain restrictions, of which principal the interdict with the Walloon families to form only one colony.
