Patrick Malrieu

Born with Amboise in 1945 Breton parents, Patrick Malrieu made the École Estienne with Paris and, after its military service, entered to printing works Brodard and Taupin to Paris, then with the printing works of Châtelaudren, where it spent 10 years, to printing works Oberthur with Rennes during one year and then to the newspaper Ouest-France. It is today responsible for the impression of the weekly magazines of the group. Having taken part as of childhood in different Celtic circles, he learned how very young person to play of the bagpipe, learned the Breton one with Ker Vreizh and became a large expert of the Breton traditional music soon. As of 1967, it launches out in the collecting of traditional songs. In 1972, it creates association Dastum (to collect) to collect all that could the being (70 000 songs joined together today!) and does not cease since working for the development and the radiation of the association which it chaired during 23 years. It supported in 1998 with the Université of Rennes-2 an important thesis of doctorate on the Breton popular song. It is since January 2003, president of the Cultural Conseil of Brittany/Kuzul Sevenadurel Breizh. It is decorated with the Ordre of Hermine.
