Jerome Bruner (1915 - 2005) is a American Psychologue , whose work concerns in particular the psychology of the education. It was one of the first discoverers of “Thought and language” of Vygotski and was nourished of Piaget and Meyerson. The ideas of Bruner are based on the Catégorisation, or “To include/understand how the man builds his world”, on the basis of the principle which the man interprets the world in terms of resemblances and differences.

For Bruner, the social mediation at the time of the conduits of teaching-training (interaction of supervision) is exerted on a communication mode (dialogical). It introduces two key concepts accounting for the processes of regulation into these interactions of supervision, that of shoring and format.

1 Interaction of supervision Interactions between an adult and a child to which the adult tries to lead the child to solve a problem that it cannot only solve. The processes of shoring allow the installation of formats (regulating forms of the exchanges) and the adult guides the child so that it conforms to these standardized forms, with these patterns of exchanges regular and ritualized. It is inside these forms that the child thanks to the shoring of the adult, will be able autonomiser worms of the conduits of resolutions.

2 Shoring Dependant on the concept of ZDP (Zone proximale of development, key concept of Lev Vygotsky (1896 - 1934)), it indicates " the whole of the interactions of assistance of the adult allowing the child to learn how to organize his conduits in order to be able to solve only a problem which it could not solve with the départ". The adult deals with the elements of the task which the newborn can only carry out. Bruner locates 6 functions:

  • enrôlement the

  • the reduction of the degrees of freedom
  • the maintenance of the orientation
  • the indication of the determining characteristics
  • the control of frustration
  • the demonstration or presentation of models.
