Jens Beutel

Jens Beutel , born with Lünen the July 12th 1946, is mayor of Mainz and member of SPD.

Biography

In 1968, it begins studies of public Droit to Mainz. From 1974 to 1989 he is member of the town council of his district Mainz-Mombach. He finishes his studies in 1976 and is named judge with Landgericht (Frankenthal), then with Coblentz and finally in Mainz. He is specialized in Civil law, Commercial law and criminal Law.

Mayor of Mainz

Jens Beutel is mayor of Mainz since 1996 and was re-elected in 2004. Amateur of play of failure, it sponsored a famous sporting event organiséee in Mainz, the Chess Classics Mainz .

October 8th, 2005 François Rebsamen, mayor of Dijon, gave to him the medal of honor of the town of Dijon.
