Biography

Its origins and its childhood

Jennifer draws her Mediterranean roots of a Corsican mother and Spanish, and of a father black foot of Algiers.

She saw a happy and modest childhood, with Nice, the sides of her parents and her brother of which she is three years the elder one.

As of its more young age, it is rocked by the discs Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Beatles inter alia, by her father. His/her mother, itself singer of orchestra, takes again the repertories of Piaf, Brel, Aznavour, while his/her maternal grandmother teaches him the traditional Flamenco and songs Corsica S.

At the 7 years age, at the time of a family celebration, it surprises a first public improvised by a resumption of the song Milord , of Edith Piaf.

Its beginnings

With the passing of years, its passion for the song does not cease growing. At the summer 1993, at the 10 years age, Jennifer occurs on scene in a Corsican village, in first part of a concert of the singer C. Jerome. Thereafter, as of the 14 years age, she regularly claims to be major in order to be able to occur in piano-bars and restaurants of the Riviera.

In 1997, it takes part in the TV-hook Graines of Stars , of which it is finalist.

At 16 years, it only leaves Nice for the capital, in the idea of living of its passion. It occurs in bars Parisian and faced the difficulties that this new life implies.

Following a casting, it is into 2001 that the general public discovers Jennifer, at the time of its participation in the first French edition of another TV-hook, Star Academy , of which it is victorious on January 12th, 2002. This experiment is a real springboard for its career.

Musical career

Its first album, éponyme, appear in 2002. It comprises in particular a text of Lionel Florence ( Donne me time ), then a text signed Marc Lavoine ( Our common points ). Its first round in concerts solo proceeds October 2002 in March 2003, and made stage with five recoveries with the Olympia with Paris.

In June 2003, Johnny Hallyday invites Jennifer to divide with him on scene a duet on its song I promise to you, at the time of its round of the stages of France.

It is spring 2004 that Jennifer proposes a second album studio, entitled the Passage , that it defines " musicalement; more personal, more marked and more pop-rock" . One finds several collaborations there, in particular with the singer Calogero (type-setter of the song It is gold ), the group Kyo (for the memory of this day) or Marc Levy (author of For you ). November 18th, 2004, thanks to this album, Jennifer is designated Meilleure French artist at the time of the MTV Europe Music Awards. January 22nd, 2005, it also gains the rewards of the female Artist francophone and the Album francophone of the year to the NRJ Music Awards.

Between the months of October 2004 and August 2005, it carries out a new round in France (including four Zenith and two Olympia in Paris), in Belgium, Suisse and with Tahiti. This round sees the collecting of the first opus Live of the Artist to the Zenith of Paris April 12th and 13rd 2005, appeared out of CD and DVD at the end of 2005.

November 5th, 2007, more than three years after the Passage , Jennifer signs a third album studio, entitled Lunatique , of which it composed and Co-compound the music with her companion Maxim Nucci. The first extract chosen for the promotion of this album is Tourner My Page.

This opus mark of collaborations with the lyric writers David Verlant (photographer and author for the singer Emilie Simon), which signs the majority of the texts, but also Julie d' Aimé (auteure for Calogero) and Fabrice Bundle-Léna (author for Maxim Nucci). From a musical point of view, one notes the participations of Matthieu Chedid in the guitar on some of the titles (in particular Touche me , a Funk with low supported), or of Guillaume Canet on Our futures . As for the title the Perfume , it is a Ska with the odors of Reggae, equipped with organ and slackened singing exercises, and Ca points , a piece with the reminiscences rock'n'roll sixties. The cords and the coppers were arranged by (Jamiroquai, Björk, Supergrass, etc) and recorded with the studio Angel with London. The mixing of the album was carried out by (Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, etc).

A round is envisaged starting from March 7th, 2008.

A committed artist

Jennifer does not hesitate to put her notoriety at the service of associations which are due to him in heart, in particular those which work for the cause of the children. It is since the beginning of 2006 Godmother of Association Chantal Mauduit Namasté, intended to improve the schooling and living conditions of the children with Katmandou with the Nepal, where it went ten in April 2006 days. It contributes to the sides of Association Dreams to carry out the sick child's dreams and takes part in particular in the concerts of the Children of the Earth, organized by Yannick Noah, and with those of the Enfoirés since 2003. In December 2006, for the association ELA (which fights against the Leucodystrophie S and whose Zinedine Zidane is the godfather), Jennifer involved himself more than 50 hours to the Kung Fu near the stuntman Philippe Guégan, with an aim of carrying out a challenge televised fascinating model on choreographies of the film Kill Bill. In April 2007, it takes part in an official reception of charity for Association Dreams, in the invitation of Jamel Debbouze and in the sides of several other artists, of which Audrey Tautou, Diam' S or Jean Dujardin.
