Jeju-C

Jeju-C (also Cheju-C or Jejudo , 제주도, pronounce Tchédjou-C ) is a province and a subtropical island Korea.

Geography

The Jeju island is located at 85 km of the Korean peninsula, and it is the only subtropic of the country. The Volcano Hallasan, highest of South Korea, rises with: 1960 meters. The eruption of the volcano of Hallasan, now extinct, is at the origin of the formation of the island.

Economy

In the province, one cultivates the tangerines, pineapples and oranges, on the one hand, and colza, the millet and the vegetables, other, the stony ground not tolerating the culture of the Riz.

The province of Jeju is an important tourist destination. If the Westerners do not know it yet, the Japanese and the tributary Chinese mass some on this island. The island is often used as destination for the honeymoons.

Culture

Jeju is also famous for its “Three abundances”: winds, stones and women. Previously, the majority of the women of the island were devoted to underwater fishing, without mask nor combination. Its Korean dialect is specific.
