Jehan Despert
Jehan Despert , born in 1921 with Versailles (Yvelines) is a Poète and Essayiste French.
He is the author of many collections of Poème S. He is also critic Art and of Poetry.
Prize winner of the French Academy and the Company of the men of letters, it received the price Louise Labbé 1989 for his book Sel and the biennial Grand Prix of poetic Criticism in 1990.
He is perpetual secretary of the Academy of Science morals, Lettres and Arts of Versailles and Yvelines.
Jehan Despert can be regarded as the “father” of Yvelines, because it is him which suggested with Gaston Palewski, then president of the General advice of Seine-et-Oise, the name of this department during its creation in 1968, in reference to the antique forest of Yveline, whose Forêt of Rambouillet is the relic and from where radiate the majority of the rivers which irrigate this territory.
A “place of Yvelines - Jehan Despert” was inaugurated on October 9th, 1997 with Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines (with the limit of the communes of Montigny-le-Bretonneux and Guyancourt).
