Jef Scraps
Jef (Joseph Marie Thomas) Scraps , (1852, Antwerp - June 6th 1908, Brussels) is a Belgian Sculpteur . He studied with the academy of the Art schools of Antwerp

It in particular carried out Fauna Bitten shown during the World Fairs of Brussels (1897) and Paris (1900) but which was the center of a polemic on the naked ones with the World Fair of 1905 to Liege where it was covered with a veil.
Another major work: Human Passions (1886), a low marble relief which was integrated in the house of Victor Horta of the Parc of the Fiftieth anniversary, for which it received a medal of honor during the World Fair to Paris in 1900.
The House of human passions , is one of the first constructions of Victor Horta, especially built in 1899 in a traditional style to shelter the low monumental relief of Jef Lambeaux, which evokes the pleasures and misfortunes of humanity. Three days after the opening, the work dared for the time which represents intertwined bodies causes a moral real scandal. The open house behind the columns of frontage is walled and closed by a metal door. It will remain it a long time. Today, it belongs to the royal Musées of art and history.
It was named member of the royal Académie of Belgium in 1903. Since 1899, the relief of the human Passions was the subject of praises and criticisms.
