Jeanne de France (1391-1433)
Jeanne de France , born in 1391, died in 1433, girl of Charles VI of France and Isabeau of Bavaria.
She married in 1396 Jean V of Brittany (1389 † 1442), duke of Brittany, from which she had:
- Anne (1409 † ap.1415)
- Isabelle (1411 † 1442), wife in 1435 Guy XIV of Laval
- Marguerite (1412 † 1421)
- François Ier (1414 † 1450), duke of Brittany
- Catherine (1416 † ap.1421)
- Pierre II (1418 † 1457), duke of Brittany
- Gilles (1420 † 1450), lord of Prince.
The counts de Penthièvre had not given up Brittany, which they had lost following the war of both Jeanne and the treated of Guérande (1365). They invited Jean V with a festival which they gave to Châtonceaux, Jean there went and was stopped (1420). Penthiève then made run the noise of its death and changed it prison each day. Jeanne de France called upon all the barons of Brittany and besieged one by all castles of Penthièvre. She ends up seizing the countess dowager of Penthièvre, Marguerite de Clisson, who was obliged of released the duke.
