Jeanne Poupelet

Jane Poupelet , born the April 19th 1874 in Clauzure, the Dordogne, deceased the October 17th 1932, with Talence, is a Sculpteur French of the 20th century.

Biography

After studies in the Art schools of Bordeaux then to the Academy Julian in Paris, Jane Poupelet attends the circles around Auguste Rodin and of Bourdelle. It takes part in the band in Schnegg and côtoie also the American artists and the Anglo-Saxon feminist groups. Great figure of the sculpture of the beginning of the XXe century, it was distinguished paticulièrement in its engagement from plastician as from 1918 by modelling masks for mutilated Guerre 14-18. Vice-president of the Living room of Independent the, it encouraged many modern artists of which Mateo Hernandez, Aristide Maillol or Rene Iché.
