Jeanne II of Burgundy

Jeanne of Burgundy , born towards 1291, dead the January 21st 1330 with Roye, was, by marriage queen of France of 1316 with 1322.
It was the girl of Othon IV (front 1248-1303), count de Bourgogne, and of Mathilde d' Artois (v. 1268-1329), known as Mahaut d' Artois , countess of Artois.
Jeanne of Burgundy was, of her own boss:
- countess of Burgundy (v. 1315-1330), stronghold in which it succeeded her older brother, under the name of Jeanne II
- countess of Artois (1329-1330), stronghold in which it succeeded his/her mother Mahaut d' Artois
In January 1307, with Corbeil, it married the future Philippe V (v. 1293-1322), known as Philippe Length , wire of Philippe IV and the queen Jeanne Ire of Navarre.
Compromised for complicity in the adultery of her sister-in-law Marguerite of Burgundy and her White sister of Burgundy, Jeanne of Burgundy was locked up in the fortress of Dourdan. She did not cease shouting her innocence and escaped the charge from adultery, but was continued not to have denounced the control of her sisters-in-law.
Discharged by stop of the Parliament, it took again its place at the court.
The influence of his/her mother was certainly for much in its return in favor, Mahaut d' Artois not wishing to lose the role which the advent of his/her son-in-law could get to him, Philippe Length.
In November 1316, with died of Jean Posthumous the, it became queen of France and was crowned with Rheims, on January 9th 1317, at the same time as her husband.
She died in 39 years, with Roye-in-Artois, on January 21st 1330 and was buried with Saint-Denis, close to her husband.
By her will, the Jeanne queen founded with Paris the Collège of Burgundy.

Of its union with Philippe Length result 7 children:- Jeanne de France (1308-1347), countess of Burgundy (Jeanne III) and countess of Artois (Jeanne II), married in 1318 with Eudes IV (v. 1295-1349), duke of Burgundy
- Marguerite de France (1310- May 9th, 1382), countess of Burgundy and countess of Artois (1361-1382), married in 1320 with Louis Ier of Flanders (v. 1304-1346), said Louis de Dampierre or Louis of Nevers , count de Nevers and count de Flandre
- Isabelle de France (1312-1348), marry (1) in 1323 the dolphin of Viennese Guigues VIII of the Viennese, of which extinct posterity - Wife (2) about 1335 the lord of Faucogney Jean III, without known posterity.
