Lady Jeanne Grey (October 1537 - February 12th 1554) is queen of England during nine days, from July 10th, 1553 to July 19th, 1553.
Jeanne is the girl of Henry Grey (1508-1554), marquis de Dorset, and of Frances Brandon (1517-1559). Frances is the girl of Marie (1496-1533), girl of the king Henri VII of England, and Charles Brandon, therefore Jeanne is heiress legitimate and also Protestant woman.
His/her cousin, the king Edouard VI, chooses it to succeed to him, but its partisans must fight against those of Marie Tudor, girl of the king Henri VIII. In 1553, it marries Guilford Dudley (? - 1554), wire of John Dudley, duke of Northumberland. The duke hopes to dominate the young people, and thus itself to reign.
Jeanne is quickly reversed. Marie Tudor does not want to put it at death, but hardly has the choice, because of its bonds with Spain. Jeanne dies decapitated with the Tour of London.
Jane was put at knees and held the block. Then it lowered its head and its thin neck on the block. Its last words were " Lord, between your hands, I give my esprit". The torturer balanced his axe on the neck of Jane, separating his head from his body. Blood squirted on the scaffold and the public. The torturer then took the head of Jane by the hair and howled: " The enemies of any queen perish thus. It is the head of a traitor! "
