Jeanne Anger of Naples

Jeanne Ire of Anjou-Sicily , known as the Jeanne queen, born in 1326 with Naples, dead the July 27th 1382 with Muro Lucano (Italy), assassinated by his/her cousin Charles of Lasted. It was queen ''' of Naples ''' and countess of Provence of 1343 with 1382, girl of Charles of Anjou-Sicily, duke of Calabria, and Marie de Valois.

Orphan of father at the two years age, his/her grandfather Robert '' Wise the '' Maria the September 13rd 1333 (it was five years old) with his/her cousin André of Hungary (1327 † 1345). She had of this marriage:

*Charles (1345 † 1348), duke of Calabria

With died Robert Wise the in 1343, it inherited the kingdom, but his/her grandfather having, to become king de Naples, despoiled his nephew Charles Robert, the father of Andre, this one claimed to be the legitimate king. The partisans of Jeanne rétorquaient that the succession had been settled by the pope in 1309 and that there was not to dispute it. The discord burst, and Jeanne made assassinate her husband.

She married, the August 20th 1346, her lover Louis de Tarente (1308 † 1362). But Louis I {{er}} of Hungary, the older brother of Andre attacked them. They had to flee of Naples and to take refuge in Provence struck by the plague where, in 1348, it sold the town of Avignon to the pope Clément VI, to reconquer the kingdom of Naples until the pope regulates the disagreement in favor of Jeanne. Louis and Jeanne had:

*Catherine (1347 † 1364)
*Françoise (1349 † 1352)

Widow, it remarie the December 14th 1363 Jacques IV, (1336 † 1375), titular king of Majorque and prince d' Achaïe, but did not have children of this third marriage.

Lastly, she married in fourth weddings, the March 25th 1376, Othon of Brunswick (1320 † 1399), duke of Brunswick-Grubenhagen, which became, in 1383, prince de Tarente, but they did not have a descent.

Without heir since 1364, it adopted Louis I {{er}} of Anjou to succeed to him Naples, but one of its nephews Charles of Lasted, high by Louis I {{er}} of Hungary, assassinated it, at the same time by hatred and to inherit the kingdom.

Its death opened a war of succession in Provence (1382 - 1386) between the partisans of Charles Duras and those of Louis Ier of Anjou (see Dédition of Nice in Savoy.
