Jeanne Marie Leprince de Beaumont , born Vaimboult (April 26th 1711 with Rouen - September 8th 1780 with Chavanod) is a Romance French cière , auteure many Conte S become of traditional of the Littérature of childhood and youth.
Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont is regarded as the first writer to have voluntarily adopted a simple style really adapted to the young readers. Although it expresses its mistrust towards the tales which it considers “pernicious for the children”, it is especially by this kind that it is still read.
Its work
In 1748, Jeanne Marie Leprince de Beaumont publishes in Nancy its first novel, the Triumph of the truth , which it gives to the king of Poland and Duc of Lorraine, Stanislas Leszczyński, with Lunéville. But it is in the Store of the children , published in 1757, that figure a tale, summary of the first version written by another novelist, Gabrielle-Suzanne of Villeneuve, which will bring the fame to him: the Beautiful one and the Animal .
