Jean de Nivelle
Jean de Nivelle is a French character of the Moyen-âge (15th century) which gave its name to the popular expression to be as this dog of Jean de Nivelle (who flees when it is called) and whose name appears in several French traditional songs.
It would be about a person having really existed, namely the oldest son (born towards 1423, deceased towards 1477) of Jean II of Montmorency (born towards 1401, deceased towards 1477).
It would have taken the party of the Duc of Burgundy Charles Bold the and would thus have refused to make him the war at the sides of the king de France Louis XI like had asked him his father. His/her furious father having then disinherited it, it flees with Nivelle in Flanders (currently department of the Northern in France), stronghold which it held of his mother, Jeanne de Fosseux. He would be thus at the origin of the branch Montmorency-Bubble.
