Jean de Cardaillac
Jean de Cardaillac , of a former family of the Quercy.
He professed the right to Toulouse, was named in 1351 bishop of Caldas d' Orense in Galicia, 1360 bishop of Braga in Portugal, and finally perpetual administrator of the archbishop's palace of Toulouse, 1376. He gave bright evidence of sound dévouementdans the wars of Charles V against the English, encouraged the inhabitants of the Guyenne to shake the yoke from abroad, and facilitated the conquests of Of Guesclin.
