Jean and Jacqueline Lerat

Jean Lerat (1913 - 1992) and Jacqueline Grooving plane (1920), his wife, are two Céramiste S French.

When they settle as potters with the Terminal in 1945, the production of this place is in full decline. Their choice is made on the sandstone and cooking to wood like artistic mode of expression thus taking again the tradition of the potters installed in this village since the 16th century, particularly the popular tradition of the imagery. Their initial production is made up of functional parts, such as bottles, pots with tobaccos, vases, and of figures in religious matter in the spirit of Paul Beyer which also works with the Terminal. Starting from 1955, the tradition is broken. A new step is crossed in their workshop of Bourges where they try out from now on the Sculpture and develop a more profane production.

Jacqueline is Chevalier of Arts and Lettres, Jean was Chevalier of the Légion of honor.

They belong to the movement Nouvelle modernity.
