Jean Willerval
Jean Willerval (September 28th, 1924, Tourcoing - April 12th, 1996) was a Architecte French, professor with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the fine arts to Paris, member of the French Academy of architecture and holder of a national Grand Prix of architecture. He was also consulting architect with the Ministry for town planning and housing.
He takes part in many contests for public projects starting from 1959. In the last but one contest for the project Head Defense in 1980, it is placed in first position but its proposal of crystal buildings is not finally adopted, a new contest being open after the nomination of François Mitterrand like new president of the Republic.
Willerval inter alia worked on the reconstruction project of the downtown area of Beirut at the end of the Lebanese civil war, on four nuclear plants, the Halles of Paris, and three turns of the district of Defense.
